Ok, I agree with you in some ways and disagree in some ways. Some of the greats, the ones that are the "voices of sports," they should stay. Some that are just downright annoying, kick them out. Of couse, as an American, I am used to commentary on TV. But if we didn't have commentary, it would be like being there, and no one would ever go to the games and the teams stop making money.

I like some sports commentators such as Al michaels and Jon Madden
I think some should stay, and some should leave because the game would be more enjoyable without them

I feel that way sometimes too, especially when they are obviously blind and deaf to what is going on, but never dumb. I do believe, however that we would miss them if they were gone, especially with the Timeouts and such that drag on forever, but the sideline reporters HAVE TO GO. We used to turn off the volume on the TV and listen to the Tennessee Volunteer radio broadcast, which was much more entertaining.

It is no wonder other countries think we are less than smart, between our fixation on sports (some of them really wacky) and our political system, it's no wonder that we will not be #1 in the world forever.

Turn the sound off, the commentators make more noise than the games.
