I don't like Pearl Jam and would never say they suck.
They are amazing musicians, they sound awesome live, and they will forever be legends known for their influence on rock.
I'm just not into all the political stuff they do- and get bored with their music....but I would never, nor should anyone else, say they suck. They are very good musicians and artists.

I've listened to Pearl Jam since 10 was released, SO MANY MOONS AGO, I brought every cd up to Vitology, my personal Fav. Manly becuase it's darker then the previous and reminds me of the Beatles in their drug years.
Ever since Vitology I just never felt the same about them. My best friend and I use to get into heated arguments over the Seattle music scene. I loved, and miss Soundgarden dearly. I honestly think Chris Cornell sings much better than Eddie Vedder.
Now a days Pearl Jam has become so obscure realsing 1 album ever 7-10 years, 1 video ever 15 years. It's not like they are the type of band when they resurface they do something ground breaking or anything. They are just Pearl Jam, they sound like a jam band that rehearsed all improve right out of their sound. I've also come to realize that their sound is just to muttled, there is too much going on and you can't really focus on one thing.
I just read that P.J. is the most important band to our generation.
I beg to differ. No doubt Eddie Vedder has done some important things while away from the band, none of which I can name. I like to think their or others out there who have used their success to help world issues so much further.
These are my issues with Pearl Jam.
I hope that you can see that I don't hate them I don't think they suck. I once liked them very much.
I think their sound has really changed over the years and I don't believe they warrent the hype they get they do something.

I hate pearl jam for two reasons. 1. they killed hair bands. I can't tell you how much fun I had laughing at the men who wore more make up than me...2. I like musicians because of the way their music sounds, I don't like musicians for their political views or to hear them complain about other bands...if they could stick with what they are good at they might earn some respect ...but if they have to talk about politics, i'm not buying their music.

i personaly love pearl jam but my friend doesn't and this is what she says when ever this comes up in conversation....
"you cant understand what the guy is saying and their music is the same thing just with different words over and over again. The singer has no vocal talent at all and shouldn't have been such a success."

Took my boyfriend because he said he loved them. Found out it was the first time he had seen them live. Coming from a generation where I saw Led Zeppelin, The Stones, Pink Floyd I thought it was awful. An over priced bar band. I let him take a friend a few nights later because I couldn't take another night. He told me it was the worst concert of his life...
