Western dancers are very popular in Japan right now. If you do a search, you will find many agencies willing to provide housing, the plane ticket, and food if they hire you to dance in Japan, as long as you have a visa. This is taking a huge risk, as said in the previous posts, because of human trafficking. Rather than going through an agency, it is best to go to Japan and directly speak with club and escort service owners yourself...it would be much more safe. Good luck.

Those businesses are controlled by the yakuza and are therefore pretty much beyond the arm of the law. What kind of visa do you think you'll get? A stripper visa? Or do you just want to work for 6 months? If you're caught working on a tourist visa you could be deported. Any lady in that industry is putting herself at risk, if you ask me. I think anyone in the mizu shobai has at least a few tales of close-calls w evil stalker men. In a foreign country where you are unprotected by the law you are taking a huge risk. Even to get a job as a hostess requires your establishing contacts, which don't come easily. But it's possible I suppose.

Please do not try this type of work.
The word from UN is that the human trafficing is run by the underworld. Japan had recieved a low rating from the UN commission on human anti-trafficking, as not doing enough to provide ways out, support for victims and legsislation against violators of human trafficking laws. The Japan Times (English newspaper) ran a long series of abused women who were victims of human right crimes. They are recruited and promised jobs such as singers, dancer and even factory workers. When they arrive, they are beaten abused and forced into escort, stripper and even sex slave jobs. Their passports are physically taken from them and they have to "buy" back the passports from their captors.
Please do not try this kind of work.

OK you heard the drama. If you are a third world girl you may have problems.
If you are a western girl you can have issues but by and large its a diff life for a Canadian/American/French white girl etc. You aren't so poor that they can snatch your Passport and figure you can't get money to go home. If you look in the Tokyo classified or Metropolis website or the magazine thats free in Tokyo you will see ads for western chicks at gentleman's clubs. I have been in them and met girls that work there. As long as you don't go borrowing money or doing business with the wrong individuals..and hang out in the beginning with girls in the know, you can survive and save some cash.
People who don't frequent or never have been to strip clubs in the US don't seem to realize the porn/organized crime drugs and all that go through many clubs. A tough girl with a nice body and a good look can make some money in Tokyo. Girls from the Phillipines/Thailand/Cambodia/Indonesia etc, sometimes arive on entertainment visas as cultural dancers. they are sometimes forced into prostitution. Because they have no money and their families sometimes make $100 a month they don't have much to fight with. Just as there are many "strippers" surviving the pitfalls at home, there are many in Japan who come for a year.....save some cash, and move on. Right now the White female "stripper" market is dominated by former Soviet Block and eastern European girls. Many are in search of a man to sponsor/marry them as they come from poor backgrounds.(hang out at the immigration office for an hour and see the men getting their tall White girlfriends' papers in order) Many White rich country western girls work as hostesses which usually is not a prostitution oriented job. If it is know in a nicer establishment that you slept with Customer A...customer B now feels slighted and moves on losing you and your boss big liquor revenue. I have known many hostesses. They were not prostitutes.
One English girl was killed by a serial killer several years back and it is always brought up at another Japan forum I frequent. Scroll the US news and you will se a diff girl killed in all 50 states every week. So if you are serious..go to Tokyo on a trip..research..go home and think about it. Talk to girls involved directly first. In Roppongi next to Club Velfarre there is a Gentleman's club next to the sports bar. (As of a year ago or so-havent been on that street in a while).
I am not supporting your endeavor. But make an adult decision based on your own known facts. Not people who have never known or seen and are automatically comparing your position to that of a trafficked immigrant which isn't the case.

There's a recruiting magazine specifically for the sex-trade in Japan, but I would avoid all that if I were you. Even though the Japanese might have a "wink, wink, nudge, nudge" attitude towards commercial sex, the people who control the business side of it tend to be very creepy. I imagine that the the western-style "gentlemen's clubs" in Roppongi, etc. book talent through the same agencies that supply clubs in North America.
Japanese style strip clubs tend towards the live-sex show side of things. There's guys on the street in Shibuya that try to recruit girls for porn, etc., but I don't know if they would be interested in gaijin. There's so many foreign girls working in Japan nowadays (many of whom were likely coerced/tricked into it), that's it's the genuine Japanese girls that command a premium.

I think the previous answerers were mistaken ... if you check out playboypaul's previous questions you'll find that he's actually a man..!
This question if 99.99999% likely to be a silly joke ... maybe he was consoling himself for his car's behaviour by getting sloshed...??! However, if it's NOT a silly joke, perhaps I should be the one to point out that the 'host' clubs in Japan are allegedly going bankrupt for lack of clientele!!!!!

Maybe you should ask about teaching English instead...!!!!!
