It depends on the person. However, gay people tend to know they are not straight relatively early in life, more so than bisexual people -- and they sense it in both the sexual and non-sexual aspects of their lives -- they just know who they are. Bisexuals many times don't self-identify and self-label themselves until much later than homosexuals. There is a gnawing feeling that one, at some level, is aroused by the same sex, but also self knowledge that he or she also is attracted to the opposite sex. A bisexual also may feel he or she is not really part of the gay community -- and that in of itself is a turning point for self-identification as a bisexual.

My answer to your specific question is this, as it relates to you, a man: gay boys tend to know they are gay before puberty; bisexual guys sense they are "different" around puberty and then into their teenage years. Many bisexuals do not accept their bisexuality until their mid-twenties -- when they self-label themselves as bi. Often a bisexual fellow will tell himself in his teenage and early adult years that he is going through a stage -- until he reaches 24 or or so. When that sexual attraction for men just does not go away, yet there is also a parallel attraction for women, the guy pretty much accepts the dual nature of his sexual orientation.

Okay, you clearly have an attraction for SOME males. The big question is whether you feel any attraction to any females. Do you? If so, then you are probably a bisexual. If you find, however, then you really have no desire for girls at all, then are probably gay. I know you want to know NOW, but be patient. Like you said, your hormones are going insane right now, and it may take at least a year or so for you to really settle into a sexual orientation.

Hmmm, I'm not sure even adults and elderly people know when they are running the show or their hormones are, lol.

By the time you're in your mid-20's, you'll probably have to accept the fact that you are gay/bisexual or that you'll always have hormonal feelings you can't control. Either way, be careful to not attribute sexual attraction just hormones. The fact that your hormones are doing it may underlie an actual sexual attraction.

Well I never knew I was gay until I was 14 years old... But I've been doing things with other boys as well as girls way before that... So I guess I knew beforet that than, I'd say around 11... But that's only me... I've known of boys that have lived a gay life since they were 5 years old... So yeah it depends on the boys past...

You know you are gay when you know. There is no right or wrong time. Try it experiment, if you like then you are, if not then you are not. You might like and enjoy being with other men sexually, don't judge it on first experience either, that isn't always the best! Good luck I am sure you will find the answer you are looking for. What ever the out come, be happy :)

None of the heterosexual boys I knew EVER had "hormones" make them attracted to men. That said, people accept the realization at all differet times of life. I can only give MY experience, because I don't presume to speak for anyone else. When other boys started noticing girls, I was noticing boys.

It really depends on when a boy started puberty, and no two boys start puberty at the same time. As far as a specific age, a boy should be certain of which sex he is attracted to by the age of 16.

Good question...

A boy thinks about sex when entering puberty, between 11 and 14, and/or when the body changes begin. When he dreams, or when he fantasizes, I believe that whichever gender he thinks about, that gives him sexual release, will be his nature.

But often, boys will experiment sexually with each other, learning the ropes, what turns each other on. Again, I think that whatever is in a young guy's mind, as he is achieving sexual release, is that young man's nature.

If you are not sexually attracted to men then no amount of hormones will make you that way. LOL
