I read Lindsay's excellent books - Darkly Dreaming Dexter and Dearly Devoted Dexter - some time ago, and when I heard that there was to be a series based on the books, I was extremely excited. So much so, in fact, that I feared disappointment merely because my standards were so high.

Thankfully, "Dexter" absolutely delivers. The show maintains the uncomfortable atmosphere of the novels with better fidelity than one could ever have expected, and Dexter (played by Hall) is all there.

The visual elements from the show are stunning, to say the least. Disturbing, certainly, but more than that - fascinating. Watching the show, it's impossible to keep from finding a certain agreement in oneself for Dexter. He's a monster, and yet it's completely possible to identify with him.

This one has a permanent spot on my DVR.

I like the concept of a serial killer who is the "good guy", but it just doesn't seem to be going anywhere.

I do like the way they handle Dexter's uncomfortability with going out on dates with Rita, and the various social settings where he tries to act normal.

we are completely addicted to Dexter at our homestead. The performing is super and the writing is astonishing. particular, that's somewhat spectacular to root for the solid guy that seems to be a serial killer - however the tutor is riveting.

I love it. It is a clever show. Some how you get to see a different side of Michael Hall. I really wish him the best and I say it is a hit.

I think it is "brilliant"!!! Both entertaining and riveting....its like "Charles Bronson" & "The House" & "CSI" all wrapped up into one !!! It is a refreshing weird tale of "justified redemption" against the broken system of justice and laws that protect the offenders and leave the victims helpless untill now......very sleek and abundantley cruel to watch!! Love it!!!
