TA-da! I'm a scrapbooker! I teach it and I do it for fun and for money. Your starting point will be the pictures you take, then circle around that. Because your pictures of what you do are the memories you're trying to capture on the page. So say if you're going to the park, you'll take pics of things you do at the park and always just jot things down.. that helps a lot. But to answer your question honey, you have a few options:
1. Michaels or Hobby Lobby has a variety of scrapbooking stuff for every budget, and they have a lot of stuff on sale here and there.
2. Ebay
3. The dollar store carries a lot of stuff
*If you're starting out I understand that you don't want to spend a lot of money. here are the essentials of what you'll need to start any scrapbook:
1. cardstock paper-durable weight and comes in many colors and prints, sizes are 12x12,8x11, and 8x8
2. An album that comes in the same sizes as well.
3.Glue sticks
4.photo mounting squares
5.paper trimmer
6.decorative scissors
7. acid free markers/pens
8. stickers/embellishments
9.Anything of relevance to your page
10. A BIG IMAGINATION!!!
*A lot of pictures, and a theme is a must too!!!
Like I said, the majority of that you can find at the dollar store. Cardstock paper depending on what size and print will range from .25 to 1.00. They also come in value packs. There's also scrapbook packs that come with a theme that are ready to stick photos on or you can rearrange, or from scratch which is always better. If you need any further help, go to michaels.com and go to the scrapbooking forum, and they have a gallery of work. I have my work posted on the website as well. Or you can contact me if you need to.. Good Luck and have fun with making your memories come alive on your pages!!!

I noticed on a scrapbook exhibit plenty of persons love virtual for the identical causes you are saying. You can print them up and album them and a different well factor approximately that is you'll be able to upload a few gildings with out spending plenty of time. You must nonetheless use archival trustworthy paper so it's going to final to cross down for generations. I suppose Epson has a few well stuff too.

Scrapbooking can be an expensive hobby, but doesn't have to be.
Having your basic tools, scissors, acid-free adhesives are a definite. Check out your local dollar stores (dollarama, buck or two) they usually have a great supply of embellishments, papers, ribbons, etc. You can start off easy, pick up an album for $1 which has colored pages in it and go for there. I have an abundance of left over supplies and such from classes that I have taught that you are welcome to have - but I don't know how to send them to you. I have no problem sending them via a third party - via yahoo somehow or whatever. If you have any suggestions, let me know. The only other expense you would have would be the pictures that you take.

A good starting point might be a kit. It usually includes a scrapbook, adhesive of some sort and usually an assortment of embellishments. You can usually catch them on sale. Or Michaels usually has a coupon in the paper every week which can be used on anything that's NOT on sale. Good luck. Also do some searching online for layout ideas.
