my Husband will use his left foot to apply brake and I tell him he is supposed to take his right foot off gas and apply right foot to brake. Left foot is used when driving standard shift for clutch. please someone who knows help me

The proper way is right foot only.
There is a reason for it...most people who use the left foot for brake have a tendency to ride the brake while the car is moving,resulting in premature brake wear.

That's a bad habit that usually belongs to people who never drove a standard. You can't brake and clutch using the same foot. People who left foot brake an automatic also tend to leave a toe on the pedal. Even if the pedal is not being pressed enough to make the brakes drag (causing premature wear), the brake lights are still on. This means the car behind you cannot tell when you actually begin braking. Another cause of accidents, especially in city driving.
