He seems like the least corrupt of all them up there and at least when he realizes he's made a mistake, he does the right thing and steps down!!
And he's probably the only one that has the respect of both Republicans and Democrats.

I know what you are saying and I like him. I wish he would have run before. But I think his involvement with that whole Iraq mess under Bush has killed his chances.

Colin Powell should run for president... He is a moral person and he has the gift of being level minded and compromising among people. The whole Bush mess won't ruin his chances because he resigned after his first term. You could tell he was disgusted at what was going on around him. He WANTED UN APPROVAL FOR IRAQ, and when that wasn't an option due to the rush rush rush mentality of those around him, he wanted to send much more forces to avoid the mess that's going on now. He was only Bush's puppet during his U.N. speech, and he was obviously disgusted by it. Not like Condolezza Rice who will carry out Bush's every plan. I would never vote for her. I would hands down vote for Colin Powell, if only he would run. I think he would be the best person to unite such a divided country.

I think you're right. But I also suspect that a lot of people who were happy for him to command an army would be a lot less prepared for him to lead the US. Racism still runs v deep

Hmm- and those people talking about credibility and WMD have perhaps the best point of all.

Absolutely not. He blew his political capital when he let Bush use him as a puppet, standing in front of the UN putting his reputation on the line that they absolutely, positively, 100% had concrete evidence of WMD's in Iraq.

Oops.
