I believe the media makes us more scared of situations like that. I would lock my doors wheter it were young black teens walking in their hip hop gear or white teens wearing the same thing. The media/culture makes us feel paranoid that something is going to happen.

There's too much concerna about this. I think people know when they're being had. People know what political leveraging is. I deal with this crap every day. I don't buy it. Common sense. That's what it's about. The minute I hear some clown going the race route it's " Good bye Charlie, I've heard that rag before. " Give you a for instance. I was on a bus going across Canada back down to the U.S. to Buffalo N.Y. Two Africans approached me and pretty soon we're in conversation. The first conversation opener is how they encountered much on account of their color. Which is false. It felt false. It was false. And a scam. No sooner do I get into New York state the station is swarming with blacks creating nuisance harassment directed by a state/ port authority cop. Like they knew you. My feeling is, it's a load of b.s.

No. I do the same. Ive been stolen from one too many times to take anymore chances. Not just black, but white, and hispanic in urban gear. You're not racist, unless you think all black people are like that, and only black people do this.

If they were white and in church clothes I wouldn't lock my car. However, if they were black and in church clothes I wouldn't lock my car either. My point is: The clothing, jewlery, tattoos, and bandanas, caps, etc, that a person chooses to wear, tell us what we can expect out of them.

You see, stereotyping can lead to one's demise.
That's where a lot of people make thier tragic mistake.
What is the first thing that will come out of thier mouths?
"I'd never thought he/she would do that to me"
Those innocent-looking little church guys could easily be killers.
