The death penalty should be abolished for one simple reason - There's no do-overs if you get the wrong guy. And for those for who believe that with DNA technology, no one will ever be wrongfully convicted again - the same comments were made when figerprints were first used.

Cheapest Method is firing squad, and bullets in the chest cavity only, and lethal injection option included. The other methods like electric chair, hanging gas camber is too cruel. Execution's are used only in 2% of murder cases and the jury should decide the person punishment life in prison or death. Also, have safeguards to require that DNA evidence has to link the person to the crime, and the death sentence only used for premeditated murder, and killing of children under the age of 12. Death penalty for acts of impulse usually are manslaughter charges. Reserve the death penalty for the worse of murders. Not for eye for a eye justice, but the death sentence should be option decided by the jury, and with safeguards were only sending the coldest most ruthless people to their death. Also , exempt mentally impaired people with IQ below 80 from death sentence since they may not understand the ramifications of the crime they committed too. If they know what they did was wrong and cold, and inhuman a death sentence is apporiate.

I'll let you decide whether or not you think execution is ever warranted.
The best method for execution is nitrogen asphyxiation. The condemed would be placed in a chamber and then an atmosphere of pure nitrogen would be pumped in. He/she would just pass out and die shortly after. The reason this is a good means of execution is that it leaves the organs intact and suitible for transplant.

I''m a firm believer in execution. I think that a person who commits a crime deserving execution should be put in a good sized room with all the relatives of the victim, and let them dish out the punishment, and televise it...It might help deter someone else who otherwise would commit a crime....just my opinion....

Execution is wrong.. It is a sin. There is no good way of murdering another individual.. and when it is done deliberately.. it is murder.
