Not any lock but if a house was built by a contractor they often have the front door keyed so two different keys will work on the lock. One of them is the one the owner gets. This one is different on all the homes so one will not open the house next door. But the one that he keeps will open all the locks on the homes he is building. That way he doesn't have to keep track of many keys. This contractor might pass on a copy of this key to firemen for a large apartment complex or something like that. That way when they get to a certain complex they have one key that fits every front door in that complex. To find out if your lock is keyed like that you would have to remove it and bring it to a locksmith.

Skeleton keys only work in specific places. Like having a skelington key for every room in the house etc. Now a days every lock is different and it's impossible to have one lock for everything. Now there are some locks that can be opened using a certain type of key that I doubt anyone has but I'm not sharing that with you........oh and you can't buy them they must be made. Keymakers aren't going to willingly make one for you by the way lol.

there is such a thing, it's called a skeleton key, aka universal key.
they don't give those out to just anyone, because a lot of people would use it to break into peoples houses. when someone has a skeleton key, that means they have your key, that they can get into your house, do you hand your keys out like candy, because that's what it means when someone has one, I know what you're thinking, get off your soap box, but I'm right, you don't have the right to have everyones keys without there knowledge or permission.

Yeah there is. It's called a Masterkey. But I have no idea how such a key can open any lock. Oh and you can't just purchase one, only emergancy people (ie policeman, fireman) are allowed to have them. If you really want to purchase one, i suggest the black market.

Yes, there are master keys, but you need different types of master keys for different types of locks. Usually only a locksmith will have master keys. The police and fire do not carry master keys, they have lock box keys, a lock box is a box outside the building where keys for the building locks are, so the fire/police open the lockbox and then use the keys inside the lockbox.

fire fighters have a key that fits in to a special box on a lot of commercial buildings in case of fire but the are all keyed the same. You can achieve opening any lock anywhere with a pick gun and tension wrench. You can buy them at this web site and any dumby can use them.
