If im using a bigger snowboard, will i be getting better control on rails,jumps,and the overall terrain of the mountain?I used to use a smaller board, and found i had good control, but now i wanna use a bigger board so i can use it this season and next, any advice?

Hmm for rails and jumps??
I used to ride a big 171 for years and got good at big pow riding and cruising and such, but I could never really get good at the park untill i switched to my 161. I really took off then. I now ride a 165 and I find it perfect for pretty much anything i want to do. A big board isnt going to help you with rails / jumps. Its going to be heavier and harder to control on rails. On jumps it will be slooow to spin.

Bigger/wider boards for powder, smaller for the parks.
Want a little more control from the bigger board on the mountain, learn to carve. You learn to "twist" the board to tighten your turns. This will also help if you're taller. Less lean when you turn but just as much, if not more control. An example... On a backside turn, front foot toes up, back foot toes down. On a frontside turn, front foot heel up, backfoot heel down.
If you can get a shorter board and still keep the bigger one, it never hurts to have two.
But, if you can only have one, learn to control the bigger board. You wanna be stuck with a smaller board on a fresh powder day???

Smaller boards are better for tricks because they're easy to control. So rails and tricks would be easier with a small board. For all-around riding, a longer board is better because it offers more stability. If you're still growing, then go ahead and get the bigger board so that you'll be able to keep it longer when you grow into it.

my boards a little big too and i bought mine big for the same reason. you wont have as good control on rails jums and stuff as with a small board, and you wont be able to rotate as fast later. it wont work as well until you grow into it. im a little dissapointed about that but man will it save me (and you) a ton of cash

no because u won't be as esay to handle the bord. Smaller is a lot esayer to control
