Gasoline is not pumped out of the ground....petroleum is. That is quite different. The petroleum must be refined before you obtain any product from it.

"NONE" except for that manufactured in the last few weeks, -but there is enough crude oil to make gas for about 2-500 more years (but it is getting harder and harder to get out to use!) We have gotten most of the "easy stuf out and used it!

The new scientific theory is that oil is produced underground when certian minerals and other chemicals combine under great pressure! Therefore it is somewhat renewable! So it may not be true that oil came from rotten vegetables and dinasaur bodies!

Of course about 80 % of scientific "facts" are skewed by other scientific theroies......... If they don't have the facts they guess, - ignoring the possibility of "intelligent design". So your guess is as good as mine!

A global scientist once answered this question by asking "how long is a piece of string?" No one knows definitely for sure. A more valid question would be "where is our next resource of oil going to come from".

New technologies our allowing us to dig deeper into ocean beds as well as develop methods of consuming less oil with the aid of additives (ethanol) and substitute fuels. (Bio-diesel).

I think that a shortage of oil would pressure our governments into telling oil companies where to go. Enough resources and new technolgies are available to substantially decrease our dependancy on oil. That would mean less expense, cleaner evironment and no dependancy on Arab nations (no more asses to kiss for oil).
