Depending on what those nasty tags are on, you can use a hair dryer to warm them up and they'll peel right off. Or, use nail polish remover.
Just be careful you don't ruin the product on which they are.

I use a product called Goo Gone and it works on most items.
Alcohol will work sometimes.
I HATE those sticky little tags. Especially when they're on something you want to give as a gift!!

Put sticky tape over it and scratch it lightly and peel the tape off.

Besides the two mentioned rubbing alcohol is good too
