I do not know where you live but try looking for a product called Jone's Ant Killer. All you do is put it in a pop bottle lid and the ants will come to it.
My parents had carpenter ants in the basement and had it exterminated by an exterminator and they still didn't go away. My Dad went to ACO and saw this Jone's Ant Killer and bought it for $1.99 and I put it in the basement.
The next morning I went downstairs to get something out of the wash and there were dead ants all over the floor.
The stuff works great. If you can't find it in the stores maybe you could look for an internet site and find out where to get it from them. Good Luck

If they are in the house this remedy works real well. Buy some 20 Mule Team Borax, put it in on of the cheap ketchup bottles that you can buy at any dollar store, snip a bit of the tip of the top off. Apply around base boards, cabinets, along back splash of counter tops around plumbing drain and water lines under cabinets and vanities. Leave lay for a few days until you no longer see any signs of ants. The ants carry it back to their nest and it will kill them. Vacuum up the excess laundry soap and discard of and use the rest of the box of soap to do laundry with.
I have done this for years, this is the first year that I have had to do it twice, the ants were really bad this year..

Are you talking about outside ants or inside ants. One thing I use for outside ants is to use the ant poisin from Wal Mart. (Eleminator) It works best if you put it on as it is raining or about to rain. For some reason this will kill them all. Or an old trick my grandmother would do is to pour boilling water on the nest.(BE CAREFUL) Use a tea kettel or something like that with a spout. For inside ants I have used Bengal ant and roach spray. It is the best I have found on the market.

Ants become a nuisance when they enter homes. Instead of spending money on costly pest control, you can get rid of ants by removing the food source and using soap water. I found the information at http://www.pests.in useful.
