I use the recommended amount of Cascade and most often even use the rinse and hold cycle. I have made sure that my rinse agent is full and still my dishes are coming out dirty, mostly the silverware.

Check the manual for the dishwasher... and use a different cleaning solution for silverware....

Are you rinsing your dishes well before starting the dishwasher? It is necessary to take all of the dirt/food off all of your dishes and throw that out then rinse the dishes well with running water before starting in the dishwasher.

You may need to run the dishwasher empty with a half cup of bleach or a cup of white vinegar to clean out the drains.

the hoses may be clogged from food on the dishes if you don't rinse off first. vinegar will open the hoses. caked and dried foods are hard to wash off.
