I'm going to a formal event the first week of Nov. in Washington state. I have a long black dress to wear. My problem is shoes!!! I'm not sure what type of shoe to wear. A friend says these sandal type shoes (slip on, slight heel, open toe, no hose). I want dressy pumps with hose. Can I wear the sandal type shoes or is it too late in the year? I only have a few days left to decide. Thanks for the help.

The perfect in between is a peep toe pump like this: http://a1216.g.akamai.net/f/1216/955/6h/images2.nordstrom.com/ImageGallery/store/Product/MediumLarge/3/_5255383.jpg

peep toes are IN right now and super sexy :)

If your dress is plain then wear dressier shoes, something with an ankle strap and embleishments would be great! Don't do a 4" heel unless your dress is rediculously long on you. If you want to do a closed toe shoe, go for a pump that has "sexy" embelishmenst, you the kind that show some skinaround the sides of your toes. Remember to get a pedi and have a matching evening purse as well! HAVE FUN!!

Sandals are kinda out of season, but can be done. I went to a wedding two weeks ago, some people were wearing sandals, some not. I've worn strappy heels to a semi formal event in December.

Wear whatever is most comfortable since you'll be wearing them all night.

You can totally wear black pumps! Try not to make them too chunky, though, because it's all about delicacy for formals. You can also try a stiletto platform with a peep toe. The website below has some great pictures of shoes for formals, and you can buy direct as well. Have fun at the formal!

No white shoes after labor day and no toes once it gets cold... Do know however, these rules do not apply when you go to a wedding, christmas event or any type of formal outing. You can wear whatever matches your outfit whatevr the season or time of year! Wear whatever is comfy or whatever you like!

if it is cold where you are i wouldnt wear sandals. What about a nice pair of sexy closed toe and heel pumps? That would go really well. Make sure the heel is skinny because chunky heels are not in style anymore.

well they both sound like good shoes to wear. If the weather is a bit warm and dry though, wear the sandal shoes. If the weather is a bit wet and/cold, then wear the pumps.

Will I get sweaty hands? - No you wouldn't be getting sweaty hands! Are there more advantages to wear them than not to wear them? - Most of the boys love girls with gloves so you will get attention from boys for sure! :) Did they annoy you after some time? - I Dont think it will annoy u because they make u feel good and people looking at you also will get closer to you! Did you keep them to eat and to dance? - Never mind keeping them! Also, did you notice a greater attention to you from the others (boys from instance)? If i would have been there and see u in gloves i would straight away try getting closer to u as a friend and many others also will be looking at u! Were other girls who were not wearing long gloves jealous of you? - Probably No! Did you notice that, for instance, there were boys who were trying to touch or hold your hands just to feel your gloves (well, you know, many boys are attracted to this kind of gloves ;-) )? - Well this is kind of weak point for the boy when a girl wears the gloves as it makes them look beautiful and attracted! :)

I would think that it is too late to ware sandals. I don't think open toes look good with hosiery. I would go with a closed toe with hosiery. The height of the heel is up to you, and how comfortable you are in them.
