My dad keeps saying he went to the school of hard knocks. But every time I axe him where it is, or how hard it was to get into, he kicks me. So I have stopped axing.

Can some of you nice people answer me this questions?

You don't have to enroll. They'll come and find you.

The proverebial "School of Hard Knocks" is a metaphor for how difficult life will be if your the kind of person who never listens to good advice and learns everything the hard way! To avoid enrolling in this school, always think before you speak or act, and listen to your parents and other responsible older people. They may not be as cool as you, but they were young once, and have lots of experience that you can benefit from. I know that sounds ridiculously old-fashioned, but trust me- I have avoided so many expensive and painful problems in my life (and I'm only 25) by taking my parents' advice on important decisions. They're not as "out of it" as you might think!
