Sting is the highest profile wrestler ever who has never worked for or signed with the WWE after WCW was purchased by the WWE nearly six years ago. Many in the industry considers him to be the most loyal big name player in the history of the business & his nickname of being the franchise of WCW was, according to his peers, earned. Why he's never worked in the WWE is unknown at this time & to this day is arguably the most successful & popular American wrestler of the modern era.

The WWE has a very harsh schedule and Sting would like a easy schedule to follow and more time to spend with family and less likely to get hurt.

I think Sting like, like other ex-WWE wrestlers are finding out is that the WWE is too theatric and too gimicky. There's too much drama instead of just beating the hell out of each other!

And I think that Sting doesen't want to go mainstream

Sting is smart & very religious.
He does not want to work for someone that has nasty angles & storylines (necrophilia angle for example) on their show. When storylines are more important than wrestling what's the point?
Sting also did not want a hectic schedule & never have time off.
TNA rules!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WWE sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
