I have noticed some of the sillier questions which are meant as a joke can sometimes be misinterpreted by other nationalities, not just americans but the difference is more marked with them because there isn't quite the same language barrier. ( This is not meant to be offensive to ANYONE by the way!)

Don't forget that so much is lost because we're communicating via the Internet and aren't face to face.

Beyond that, yes I think Brits and Yanks have different sense of humor. It's said that British humor is more of a dry wit. I personally just don't find them very funny. Except Sasha Baron Cohen seems hysterical.

Yes the Brits have a Carry on Film sense of humour whilst Americans enjoy forcing naked A rabs to perform perverted sex acts.
British humour has been crippled by the Race relations act etc, remember the Rastus and Lisa jokes,
Wonderful Comedy songs like "Send the Buggers Back"
Bernard Manning, one of the few comedians who died on stage so thoroughly they embalmed him, well how else did he get that complexion,

errr yes, ever seen Married with Children? I have to say the gap between the two is narrowing somewhat. Who's line is it originated in USA, is fantastically clever & let's face it the Brits came up with Terry and June. Crickey It's hard to believe I still believe they are different forms of humour at all.

Yes, I've worked with Americans for the past 20 years and their sense of humour is different. Apart from one notable exception (who had one of the wickedest sense of humours I've ever come across), they tend to have no sense of irony and are very politically correct. I realise I'm generalising here and I don't want to cause offence, but this has been my experience.

I dont imagine that individuals or brits have experience of humor in any respect. In videos and tv u can see the way they take care of comedy and the brits teach a sofisticated experience of humor in spite of the indisputable fact that the individuals like the "pie on face" type of humor ... yet we cant blame they both cuz they dont have adequate sex so ... i imagine the brazilian human beings, fairly the arab / brazlian everyone is more effective horny, pleasing and performance an extremely effective experience of humour. my suitable regards, little Paris ...

I think the Brits tend to be a bit harsher (about people) when telling jokes which makes the joke more funny seeing as we are told not to be so forthright in our opinions in every day life.

Very much so. As an American I find British humor much more cerebral and cunning than Ameircan humor. Just take a look at a meeting of Parliament!!

I find myself hanging out with people of a certain degree of wit, and it turns out we all like British humor.
