We all know the BCS should be shortened to just BS, so how would you fix it?

Here's what I would do:
Each major conference is required to have a championship game. The 6 conference winners make the playoffs. Then you have two "At Large" teams, most likely coming from the Big 10 and SEC unless those conferences have some kind of off-year. And Notre Dame is not allowed to whine. If they dont want to join a conference, then they'd better make sure they get the "At Large". These 8 teams would be seeded 1 to 8 (using the BCS system if we must) and they'd then play out the bracket to determine a title game and champion. January could be as much fun as March!

Most schools whine because they want to win atleast a bowl game, what should happen is the top eight should contend for the BCS title bowls the losers get nothing, and the other 200 NCAA teams that didnt make the playoffs should be beaing themselves playing OUTBACK bowl or some other useless bowls, I relly Hope Michegan. Ohio state, Florida, SoCal, Cal, Texas, and all those one loss team to stay like that just so their be another conteversy, so this whole BCS BS will get thrown out

Each conference has a conference championship. That's the first six. Then, ten at-large bids. So, if the regular season conference winner doesn't win the conf. championship, they still can get a bid. The bids are decided by a ranking system somewhat like the BCS. Any team from a non-major conference that is in the top 16 gets an automatic bid. If Notre Dame is in the top 16, they get an automatic bid. The top seeds get home games in the first and second round. The final four is then played in a two week time span at the same site (Rose Bowl, etc..). The bowl system is still intact for those teams that don't make the top 16.

You talk as if the BCS is broken. College football obviously does NOT think it is broken.

If there was a playoff of some description, people would watch only the playoffs and not the bowl games. All the money the 20+ bowl games generate would not be earned. All the marginal teams playing their guts out in early November, trying to win a bowl invite, that would go away. College football is NOT going to give all that up. They love the money too much.

And, if it wasn't for all those bowl games, there would not be college football every day between December 18 and the end of the year. What would you do with yourself?

LOL... Yeah, I agree one hundred% that i'm no longer partial to Obama contained in the least notwithstanding the BCS nonsense desires to bypass. The presiding individuals of the BCS have apparently stated that there is not any probability of a authentic playoff equipment taking position utilising very sweet language. basically, all of it comes right down to having an absurd form of bowls which guarantees maximal sales. even as there is money in touch no one's gonna substitute some thing each and every time quickly.

Leave it alone, EXCEPT, if a team does NOT win its conference it cannot play in the nat'l title game, even if it is ranked 1 or 2 in the final BCS poll.

Have a 16 team tournament for the top 16 teams in country. Rest have normal pointless bowl games. Both sides win.
