Assuming you mean "population", population of what? Where? When? Are you referring to number of subjects in a particular group or place? The population of a good termite hill can reach into the hundreds of thousands, while the population of germs on a good slab of putrifying decayed flesh can reach into the millions.
Population size is the number of subject individuals in the area for which the count is desired.

In the United States, it just hit 300 million about a week ago..... it was all over the news. everyone made such a big deal.. there was even two babies counted as the 300 million American..... A baby boy and baby girl born to parents of a foreign country......
