I just finished reading Godless: the Church of Liberalism by Ann Coulter (which by the way is an eye opening book that I recommend anyone reading, especially High School students). While reading it I marked some of the topics she brings up and went and checked her sources afterwards and it turns out that its all true. My question is this (please note I'm not looking for the usual rhetoric, I really would like to know):

If it is so obvious that our children are being taught lies, isn't there something we can do about it? Can't we sue like the Liberals use the ACLU to do? Can't we demand equal time for theories that are more factually compelling than the lies of evolution? How is it possible that the public can be so blinded by all of the BS that is pushed upon them?

Some have obviously asked for some instances of lies beign taught. I'll give a few but if you are so sure of your beliefs and their validity, why not read her book? Just a question. Anyway a few things she points out are;

1. The Scopes trial was proven to be set up and funded (both defense and prosecution) by the ACLU and done for publicity and it is pushed on our children as a crusade against Christians.
2. That followers of Darwin often state "there is mounds of evidence" yet can not produce any
3. The fossil record completely disavows the theory of evolution.
4. Examples of evolution that have been proven to be lies and fakes are still taught to our children in textbooks such as the the Piltdown Man fossils, the pepper moth experiment, the truth about the nonexistant computer model that evolves a working eye.

The list goes on and on. I really do recommend reading the book, if you say she is lying than what do you have to fear. You just may be the one to prove her wrong....

Because schools are held hostage by teacher union liberals. While Darwinism is an interesting theory, there is overwhelming evidence against it. Still, it is taught as fact. Good luck convincing teacher unions that there was a First Cause, or a Prime Mover, or a God period.

This works both ways.

It seems to me that the motivation of many scientists is to promote secular beliefs and marginalize God as much as possible.

I just got that book today and cant wait to read it. Let me tell you - my kids come home with changing information all the time, when things get changed and I know that is not how I was taught, it sure is strange, anyway, yes we can make a big stink just like the liberals did and sue the school and spend taxpayers' money but you know I was taught evolution is school and I still believe what I believe, I thing that it must be up to the parents to express the other side - you know your kids will believe you more anyway.

As someone else asked, what did she say that you think should be taught at school? What are the "lies" that children are being taught?
With these sort of subjects it is important to compare apples with apples. I'd suggest you do some research and find at least one author, preferably two, who wrote a book with a contrary point of view to Coutler and read that.

There is nothing "factually compelling" about theories based on a book written thousands of years ago that includes such "factual" information as the world is flat and the Sun rotates around the Earth.

Instead of relying on Coulter's sources, which would obviously be the ones that support her nonsense, I suggest you make the effort to review all the available information. Then again, with all due respect, you don't strike me as one who is as interested in science as you are in furthering an agenda.

As a republican I am ashamed of Ann Coulter. She has as closed mind as the president. They don't want to be bothered by the facts. Religion should be taught at home. You don't have to wear your religion on your sleeve. People will see it when you work for justice and the less fortunate. You need to get the book by David Kuo. This congress and this administration has had more crooks in it than you can count. When ever this president does something wrong he passes a law to protect his self.

That's why so many kids are in private schools or home schooled!
You could try a class action law suit, but I doubt it would get very far with the separation of church and state.
too many different views of God..who's right and who's wrong, if you teach Christianity, them what about Judaism, Buddhism, Islamic..you can also request that your child not be included in any class containing evolution!

I'll be civil.

If the vast majority of professional scientists believe that evolution is a basic tenet of science, why would anyone want to disagree?

I mean, what's the motivation?

Scientists argue among themselves, and their motivation is to come up with better science.

It seems to me, that the motivation of the conservatives is to promote a religious belief as science in order to validate that belief - in the same way that the catholic church for years held that the sun revolved around the earth.

Many religions find ways of reconciling their beliefs with current science - even if there was evolution, it doesn't mean that there wasn't a god involved there somewhere . . .

If I were strongly religious, I would look for ways to adapt my religion to changing circumstances and changing scientific beliefs.

The scientists themselves constantly adapt their beliefs in accordance with new evidence and new discoveries.

Why not do the same as religious believers?

I have contacted every network, individual newscasters, Oprah, senators, representatives, the president, you name it...I also believe someone should tell the "side" of middle-class Americans - but I am bi-partisan.... I firmly believe both political parties are as corrupt as any third world country and neither is working for the good of Americans & America!
Teaching the theory of evolution??? That's the LEAST of our problems!

There are Christian legal aid groups like the ACLU, so yes there such organizations.

Evolution is not factually compelling, but what then? Creationism/Intelligent Design? Seriously!

Easy question to answer. Weren't you blinded by the load of crap that Ann stuffed down your throat? What can we do about it? Simple: sponsor a book-burning. As a matter of fact, how about a witch burning?

If Ann Coulter is the poster child that represents Conservatism, God help all of you. She is a hateful, judgmental, evil-spirited demon.
