Salisbury National Cemetery (A Union P.O.W Camp) has mass graves containing 11,700 unknown Union soldiers buried in 18 trenches (each 240 feet long) marked by head and foot stones. The graves are adjacent to the former site of a Confederate prison. It is perhaps the most interesting American Civil War site near you.

Battle of Averasborough
Battle of Bentonville
Battle of Monroe's Cross Roads
