I regret mine. I got it when I was 17 because I was rebelling and it was done in a grimy little place, they didn't even bother checking I was old enough. It's on my shoulder and not very feminine and I always think if I ever get married it's going to spoil my look cos I'd have liked an off the shoulder wedding dress. It only cost £15 but would cost many times more then that to get rid of it so I just live with it as a reminder of how you need to think things through before doing them, it's symbolic to me for that reason alone! If I could turn back the clocks I would never of had it done!

As long as your tattoo is for your own reasons, and not a form of rebellion or trying to fit in, then you should be ok.
If it means something symbolically to you then all the better. All my tattoos have a specific meaning so they remind me of things that I've come through, my beliefs or people that mean a lot. I can't see myself ever regretting these as they are a part of my life history rather than some random picture. I also designed all mine, so if I start to regret them I have a problem!!!!
Also, be sure of where you're putting it. I'd recommend your first tattoo be something slightly discreet, that can be covered up at will, just in case. Then, when you're used to it and what it entails, when you want another one (because you WILL want another one eventually!) you'll be more sure of yourself.
You really need to be 100% sure of this. You can't stop half way through and decide you don't want it and wipe it off!!!

I have a dragon tattoo covering my entire back. I did regret it, it's not quite what I wanted and was unhappy with it at first. But I've never had a negative comment about it.
You should wait, and really think about it. If you decide you're not happy with the tattoo, now or later, it will be difficult to cover up because of it's size. It's more expensive and painful to have a tattoo lasered off than it is to get one.

I got one when I was 16, on my arm, of a celtic band pattern, my grandad was Irish. Unfortunately sporty spice then got the same one as me, which isn't necessarily why I regret it, but now I always have to wear long sleeves, as I don't feel tattoos look very professional in my line of work. I suppose our bodies age and show our histories, and tattoos are a part of that, so it doesn't bother me too much, they are very expensive to remove though,so make sure you make the right choice. Traditional Japanese tattoos are very beautiful, and they have some great dragon designs. Funny but in Japan tattoos are very much frowned upon, as traditionally, the Yakuza (Japanese mafia) always have them, and generally ordinary folk do not. If you plan to travel to Japan it might be worth bearing that in mind.

I regret the one on my a**e coz it was a tester to see if I could stand having one and it didn't turn out the way I wanted it. I Love the one on my shoulder which is a welsh dragon holding a maltese cross to represent the nationalities of my parents.

I have 2 tattoos. I don't regret either, as they both closed chapters in my life. Just make sure you really like the design before you put it on. It hurts alot more to remove it.
Also consider the location you place it. Make sure you can live with where it is at. Such as, will I get a job after I tattoo my face or neck. I make sure that my tattoos won't interfere with normal life.

I do because you can see it in a bathing suit and some clothes. i would be careful with a huge one. You may regret it when you get older and have a career when you need to dress professional and you have a dragon on you shoulder.

NO because each one is a part of me from that time of my life. Like the one I got in a friends room when I was 15 show how rebelous I was. I have no regrets because I would not be the person I am today if it wasn't for each event in my life.

I have four tattoos and i regret one of them, and would have chosen a different place for another. Think it through long and hard, and then go to a place for their reputation and skill, not the price. Make sure to check out the shop for cleanliness too, gotta look like a dentists office! lol.

I kinda regret mine a bit, but only 'cause I had them done when I was younger and they are kind of cheesy compared to what they can do today. They remind me of my time in the military, so I won't say they are all bad. Just wish they looked better.
