It always comes up down on the lower right and in the upper right by the tools. Do we really need it?

You really don't. I have it (got it out of curiosity) and it doesn't seem to make a difference to me.

I never saw it and I use Google all the time. I have a DSL connection, perhaps that is why.

try this to see if it speeds up dsl without the webaccelerator.
