why when i come on here , usually after the kids have been doing other stuff , i get a totally different format with big black and blue writing and i have to turn off pc and restart to get back here , appreciate your help.

They have probably changed the font size and windows picture etc. Kids will do this unfortunatly. Maybe think about setting up another account(If you are running XP) where you kids use it and one where you do.

If you are talking about your browser settings, go to Tools > Internet Options and when that window opens, look to the bottom for the fonts and colors. If it's on the computer itself, try right-clicking the desktop and going to properties...there are a couple of different settings they could have changed there. If you want to prevent this, and are using XP, go to control panel > users and make a new logon for each user. That way your desktop will always be how you've had it.

Are you using firefox? if you are its possible they have downloaded a blue theme for the browser. I did that a while ago, its called blueshift and rather nice i have to say.
If you are using firefox, go to Tools and select themes and see if blueshift (or similar) is there, if its selected click default, close firefox and fire it up again and all will be well.
If of course you're not using firefox i've just wasted my time typing this crap - much like you have reading it :)

if you are using windows XP, then right click over your desktop, select properties, then to Desktop TAB, select windows XP Theme, and also from Appereance TAB select windows XP style for windows and buttons, and the color scheme must be default(blue) + normal Font size?? thats all, and kiss your kids, sure they didn't mean to change it!

if you are using winXP set them up there own account then go into control panel find users click on it and change there rights to limited this will stop the changing of your settings as they wont have the power to do this

create a new user account just for you.that way you can logg on computer and it will go to your settings.put a password in so the kids cant mess your settings up..do this..start/settings/control panel/user accounts/create a new account.

Yes, they have been loading cd roms on, theres no problem with this. just reboot and it will go back fine....somethingto do with the pace and memory on your computer! What it can cope with!
