Norton anti virus is a bad one... Almost 2 famous are Mcafee and Norton but they slow down your PC. In case you need t o uninstall it it's comes with uninstaller, first disable the anti virus from scanning your PC. Then go to start menu, programs, directory of the Norton anti virus and then click uninstall... If you can't then go to control panel / add/remove programs and then choose Norton anti virus or Norton Security center. If you cant find it to do uninstall. Use any uninstaller software third party software, like uninstaller 2006 Recommend software for antivirus and security suite is the following: Kaspersky Bitdefender Clamwin (Free) And this one is good NOD32 But you should not use only Antivirus you should use the full package of internet security for your pc to be secured and safe. I mean with security suite a package of software Containing : Anti-Virus, Firewall, Anti-Spyware, Antiphishing, Antispam and Parental Control but it's OK if you use Multiple programs but you have to mention it all.

Andrewnor, you deserve the ten points. I laughed until I cried when I read your call to "Nortons technical support. They make millions of dollars with garbage that they have been selling for years. Each an every year Nortons keeps just getting worse.

They know that they are garbage. In my spare time I test antiviurs an antispyware program to see if they perform as claimed. An also to check and see if there is any embedded trojans, adware in their program or the wizard installer used to guide you through the installation.

What is so funny is that Nortons is well aware of the junk that they sell, so they will go as far as they can to keep their junk in your computer if you are one of the suckers who purchased their product. (They actually punish you if you ever try and remove their product from their system).

It was a living H E L L, when I tested their program. Did not know one torjan or any other kind of virus when it was right in their face. Even if it did, it was unable to remove. The H E L L, came when I went to remove Nortons from my pc. You may thing that the add/remove will remove Nortons, don't kidd yourself.

What you have is 350 plus fragments of Nortons glued to all of your files/folders and hidden all over your system.

You really have to be an expert to remove their software because of all of the fragments that are left behind to cause you serious conflict with your system..

When you call Nortons support you are actually getting Iraq, or Afghanistan, as they out source. (Andrewnor tells it like it really is with Nortons).

I was able to remove all 350 plus fragments with a software program that I purchased from http://www.rosecitysoftware.com Their Registry First Aid program with "search the registry", and your type in symantec add and type in nortons add to the scan an all associated registry will come up. All you have to do is left click on each registry key that shows and drop down where the arrow is on the right side to you see "delete string".

Get rid of this junk and get http://www.avast.com Free state of the art technology. As one of the very best backgound scanners that scans in real time and will never miss any hidden embedded virus in a webpage. Plus gives you twice or three times per day virus data base updates automatic.

Norton did this to prevent theft of their product. You can call them and they will tell you how to do this and/or give you a password. Did you try disabling all the Norton services then uninstalling it?

Why are you using Norton, dump it and get the free AVG anti-virus. Norton hogs memory and system resources. Use CCleaner to uninstall Norton, and it will clean the registry to remove the remnants of Norton.

Norton is a waste of money.
Try Ad-Aware SE (not bad)
Spyware Terminator (found more than Norton, costs free, and has real-time protection).
