The Green Party is the party of Ralph Nader, the long-time consumer rights and environmental advocate. They are farther left than the Democrats.

There is also the Libertarian Party, which has been around for years, and seeks small government and a lot more freedoms than we have today. Their mantra is, if it's not bothering anyone else, I should be allowed to do it.

And there is the Reform Party, if they still exist. This is the party that Ross Perot started in 1992 for his unsuccessful presidential bid. They have had candidates in every presidential election since 1992, but only Ross Perot himself got any serious percentage of the votes (19% in 1992).

They never win because they are usually fringe parties and they don't have the financial support of the two biggies. Corporations who want things done are going to bet on the sure winners, not the start-ups.

The Green party is the super far left party that Ralph Nader always runs for. Other parties are Libertarian, where most of the smart people are, and reform (don't know if it still exists). Someone started a national Marijuana party. Not surprisingly, it hasn't gained much momentum.

Libertarian party. I'm sure there are a bunch more, but those 4 are usually the only ones mentioned.
