Turn gender bias around to become gender appreciation.
The boys won't mind if the girls are the ones asked to do the posters. The girls won't mind if the boys put the physical display together.
"Boys being boys" is a lame excuse for poor supervision. "Throws like a girl" gets you into the Olympics. Many students are going to excel, only rarely can it be said that is because they are male or female.
Empower your students to think above themselves, step out of their skin and do the remarkable.

Since there is a physical and mental difference between the two I summit there is no way to completely remove bias.
Examples: Women tend to be more emotional Men tend to be more logical - Pound for pound men tend to be physically stronger..: and the differences go no and on Ya know Mars and Venus...
removing an obvious distinction would be the only way to accomplish your goal. Can't be done. Maybe we should all become Eunuchs..

You can't. You just can't. It'll always be there because males and females are constantly competing with each other to prove that their gender is better.
