sorry no best answer so far, it seems as though my theory is correct, people only see, read, what they choose; & in the way that they choose is where my point lies. Although to be fair some people have been doing it for so long they probably don't even know what i'm talking about, & then their are those who justify their actions, by getting defensive, through being exposed, & some don't even know they are doing that.

My point is that it seems some people just dont know how to communicate, they just think they do.

Perhaps because you get points for answering a question, even if the answer is lousy. The first and fastest response requiring no thought seem to give us a lot of cliches, self-indulgent sarcasm, etc.
For most people, genuine wit takes more effort. Genuinely helpful answers require some perspective-taking, which also takes effort. Not the best reflection on humankind, I agree.

You're right, the reason yahoo answers exists is to encourage communication, and the definition of that word is .... "the act of transmitting thoughts or information as by speech, signals, writing, or behavior." Members of this site choose to participate for various reasons, and it is up to them to decide what thoughts and information they wish to communicate with the rest of us. Some seek assistance, some enjoy giving it, some share joys, sorrow, and experiences, some create them, and some simply get their kicks by annoying the hell out of the rest of us. However, all of those people ARE technically communicating. So I'm not sure what your point is. If you have a more limited, personal definition of communication, please share it. But, as everyone else here, your participation is voluntary, so if you feel unsatisfied with the Yahoo Answers experience, perhaps this isn't the place for you.

Many of the people answering and asking questions are bored and antagonistic children. I have come across more than my fair share of inane questions, 'tis true, but also a reasonable share of genuine questions. I enjoy it here.

well, perhaps it's a form of entertainment designed for the player to give their opinion or life experience on any subject matter. unfortunately, like most other things, people tend not to have a balanced attitude when it comes to answering. this is only my opinion on this. since you stated yours.
like one writer stated, " answers are the easy part, questions raise doubt."

I'm not sure exactly what it is you want. You seem to be rejecting every form of answer. I agree about sarcasm and rudeness but everyone else is just putting forward their point of view which is what this site is about.
