I think she is unique and fresh. When a person are those things they shine more than others. I would put her in the same category as Gwen Stefani & India.Arie...even Jewel.
Given that I am a Shakira fan, I know that she is an activist and a lover of humanity. She is a very creative, poetic, and aware person. Her belly dancing, or any other dancing she does is part of her artistic nature. She does not only perform belly dancing, although it's her trademark, but she also does other types of dances. Her first album was amazing with Underneath Ur Clothes, Obcession (Tango) and The One. but her second album is just dreadful. La Tortura was brilliant but the rest of the tracks r crappy and Hips Don't Lie is irritatting

I DO NOT like her! Why? She relies to much on her hips and her voice is somewhat screechy and annoying. Not to offend any fans but i think she IS A POSER!

She is gorgeous and very sexy! Oh yeah, she sings well, too! I don't like 'Hips Don't Lie' but 'La Tortura' kinda rocked.
