A lot of it has to do with old grudges, in my opinion. Some people of visible minorities seem to resent Caucasians because of what the European ancestors did hundreds of years ago, whether it was in Africa, the Americas, or really anywhere outside of Europe. Because of this, they seem to feel justified in painting White people with the same broad stroke that they say White people do to them. This is what I've observed in my own environment.
I'm Hispanic myself but I look Caucasian and have personally observed this phenomenon. It's always horrible for me to hear someone make a prejudicial comment, regardless of the person's ethnicity.

The majority will always be the best target. You are right that it shouldn't matter which way the racism and hatred is going, and that it should be looked down upon regardless. However, and this may also be offensive, but once a victim it is difficult to remove the victim mentality. Unfortunately, because SOME minorities refuse to remove the victim label they slow down their progress/their races ability to acheive/assimilate into a society without race. It is looked down upon when Caucasions think others should just get over it, move on, work hard, and do something with themselves because Caucasions haven't ever been on the wrong side of the playing field. Finally, whether you disagree, it is only the minorities who can level the playing field; nothing the majority can do will ever satiate those who can't, or refuse to be satiated.

Inferiority complex maybe? It just the most convenient and most easily wielded club with which to strike the republican bad guys.I believe it is the superiority part of the definition that they use to say we are the only ones who can be racist that and the fact that we are the majority.
But I have experience at being the only white guy amongst 80 black men and racism is the same no matter the color of the skin in majority.

http://www.britannica.com/dictionary?book=Dictionary&va=racism&query=racism
Main Entry: rac·ism
Pronunciation: 'rA-"si-z&m also -"shi-
Function: noun
1 : a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race
2 : racial prejudice or discrimination
- rac·ist /-sist also -shist/ noun or adjective
As you can see the dictionary does not mention any one race in particular.
When people say that only whites can be racist, some mean that only whites are capable of imposing racist policies on minorities which used to be true in the USA. No matter what the ethnic composition it is always the majority race that can impose racist policies on the minorities. Some others are just trying to make it look like white people are worse than others.

Why should every one hate each other. It seems that yahoo answers is turning into yahoo hate zone.
White people are accused of more racism simply because several centuries ago they colonised many parts of the world and
enslaved the native people which generated hatred.
We should be able to forget about that now and learn from each other.
We have a rich diversity of cultures and people, Let there be less hatred on this site please.

Yes. You should know better than to use self- defense if your white. It's politically incorrect; and it's almost as racist as calling a white man "brother".
Don't you feel ashamed, asking for equality. It's un-american.You really need to stay in the back of the bus
and know your place.
Next you'll be wanting to organize the NAAWP.

This is a very good question. I know there are plenty of caucasians who are racist, but I doubt that the percentage of white racists could be any higher than the percentage of racists from other minority groups.

The only people who call us white people racists are racists themselves. I believe in equality but we do have a few colleges and television shows that are strictly for one type of person and that they do not allow others races in. I watch B.E.T. I think it is rude to have B.E.T. because it is centring out one group of people. Should all channels be labelled for the viewers that they think are worthy of watching?
