Part of our economy is to support the people we buy crap from. It helps keep prices lower

Tax should be calculated by deducting a percentage of every pound , so Mr and Mrs Average will make say 100 donations to tax each week , and Mr and Mrs millionaire will make one million donations to tax each week .

And what money is sent abroad isn't worth worrying about because 99% of it actually ends in an officials private bank account , and so never leaves the country .

No, because ensuring some level of stability and international commerce places our own economy on a steady rise, thereby creating more income to be taxed and ensuring security, infrastructure and social benefits don't go completely down the drain.

Our economy is growing at a steady, not-overheated rate, and as far as taxation, it's likely at its lowest levels in years. Problem may be a question of what ambition and desire Americans place within their own lives and future, or are they simply willing to punch the clock and hope there's a clock to punch every morning, without improving themselves, their skill sets or their contribution to the economy.
