"big hair" for holloween...how do you do it?

Ok, so i asked a previous question about what to do for my costume for the 80's and everyone said that I need to do "big hair". I kinda understand what you mean but how should i do it. my hair is wavy and thick. i dont know how to do what you are all telling me to do because i think that with all the hair spray in it it will make it look gross. how do i give it lots of volume with the spray w/o making it look like it has too much spray? Thanks

Hairspray and tease it with a comb, or blow dry your hair with your head upside down.

It was the 80's we all looked like we got into a losing fight with a can of Aquanet...

Tease your hair.. then tur your head uside down between your kknees, spray thickly... Use a blowdryer to dry spray... Turn rightside up again... Check for flat spots or holes repeat tease turn upside down and spray to fill in holes....

(1 cup Baking Soda and 1 cup warm water mixed and used like a creme rinse in the shower will strip out hairspray residue)

if you want scarey looking big hair, i would say tease it from root to tip with a comb... then spray hair spray in it. but if you want pretty big hair, just tease the root to make it stand up from the scalp a bit, spray that with hair spray, curl the rest and spray that with hair spray. then if you want extra lift on it, you can always try adding some bobby pins in there.

do what we did in the 80's. Lots of gel and blower dryers.
Lean over and blow dry your hair upside down, after you have put gel in it.
That should do it!
