Drop Dead Gorgeous was originally released in 1999. It stars Denise Richards and Kirsten Dunst as contestants in a beauty pageant called the Sarah Rose Cosmetics Mount Rose American Teen Princess Pageant, held in the small town of Mount Rose, Minnesota. The film is a fictitious documentary covering the pageant. The film is based on the novel Civic Beauties by author C.D. Payne.

Yes, I saw it and I actually liked it, it was really dark though - so if that's not your thing you may want to pass.
Kirsten Dunst was great in it. I think she was a much better child/teen actress than adult.

Yeah. I was forced to watch it thinking it was a stupid chick flick, but it was actually really funny. It is a satire on beauty pageants.
