Note that this is just about the ending to the particular story, not about the best game.
Mine is FF8.

My favorite ending was the FF8 one. Then I also liked the FFX/X-2 endings. But FF8 had the best ending overall to me. Now I kinda feel like playing it..

Mine is from FF3, (FF6 in Japan) with FF9 coming a close second. FF3 is still my all time favorite Final Fantasy, regardless of how far we've come in terms of cg and gameplay since then. It had a great story and was just an awesome game. It was responsible for getting me addicted to RPG's.

I never beat 8. I keep meaning to go back and finish it, but I just haven't. I also thought 7 ended weak.
I cried at the end of X. I hated the ending of X-2. (All that and we got pretty much no where...)
I'm quite hopeful about 12.

the only final fantasy i could ever bring myself to play all the way through & finish was ff7, and the ending for that was a little weak.

actually my best is ff9,since i have played in in final fantasy 1 to 9 except 7,but i wanna play 7 since they it is the best in the series.

i also finished FF7 but it wasnt that good at all.
