They think that a "victim" can get away with throwing punches, and not be allowed to have anyone debate their point. I hate how Democrats use "victims." It just ain't right.

Something has to be done about the health care in this country. The cost is out of control. The republicans help the drug companies more than the people they are supposed to be working for. Under the presidents plan seniors with medicare are now paying three times as much as they did under Clinton with an HMO.

It's not a pass. People speak out of their own experience, and people with high profiles--i.e. celebrities--are useful in raising awareness of certain issues when their experience is relevant.
Michael J. Fox doesn't claim to have the definitive answer, but he speaks from hsi experience and has done research on his condition, and lends his support to politicians who support a cause that may affect his health and the health of millions of other people. He's lobbied dems and repubs.
All of us, like yourself, have encountered tragedy. That's part of life. Not all of us ahve a platform. That is unfrtunate. But rather than playing the "his pain is no more valid than my pain" game, try on a little empathy.

You are just repeating the Karl Rove talking point of the day. Fox has every right to express his opinion and has spoken in support of republicans as well as democrats. He doesn't "get to have all the say" -- his support of stem cell research cannot overide Bushes veto of the bipartisan stem cell research bill. I guess you think Nancy Reagan should shut up about her support of stem cell research also?

And the "right" used Pat Heaton, Kurt Warner, and Jim Cavezil to counter the add and no one from the "right" seem to think itis horrendous for them to make the add. Let's go back to the "Dark Ages" seems to be the rhetoric from the republicans.

Michael J Fox can say anything he like because he has Parkinson's ...... and what he says concern him and the people affected with the dreaded disease .............. on the other hand ......... does it concern you? ......... what right have you to commend on an issue that doesn't concern you? do you have Parkinson's? do you knows what it feels like to have Parkinson's? why don't you infect yourself with Parkinson's ......... or go paralyze yourself from falling off a horse ......... and then come back here and champion your cause for the repug?

I do enjoy seeing the people who have had all sorts of losses coming out and saying that yes, they've had all of this happen, but they're adults and would rather take care of it themselves instead of asking for government handouts.

He is simply getting his message and opinion out into the public forum.
This is a basic tenet of our Constitution. If you don't like it, then dispute it or walk away.
