i had an opportunity to drive this beautiful machine some years ago, and enjoyed it. it handled the road so well, the speed was nothing. i was going about 120 and it felt like 75. took me1.5 hours to get home to detroit from toronto.

After 2 years of enjoying my SLK 230 I went upscale for a 2006 SLK 55 AMG. To anyone who thinks Mercedes drives like a tank, I challenge you to a skid pad test. This car is the closest thing to the McLaren SLR there is. Phenomenal acceleration and cornering, and the car looks like it cost far in excess of what it actually cost.
However the 230 SLK was the car that convinced me to go up the line in Mercedes. Great quality, great service and dealer support, I would recommend these cars to anyone.

Yeah my dad has one it's a very good looking car and fun to be in especially with the top down but as far as the actual driving experience I don't think it handles that great. The car feels heavy and slow personally I think mercedes drives like tanks. BMWs drive way better.

Hi, excuse me about distant of detroit to toronto, but about speed it is true 120 feels like 75. m-benz was design for comfort and safety. maybe your way pack of traffic. one thing more is the car was carefuly shape and test for aerodynamic that is why you can't feel the speed. Nice Car and drives nice, but I'm sure it took longer than 1.5 hours from Detroit to TO.
