no idea.. i actually read in the daily mail the other week that when bees ejaculate they explode. their willy stays inside the female bee though, so she cant have sex with any other bees!

aha.. 'The drones, while technically female with an X chromosome, ejaculate sperm into the queen, causing them to instantly die as their abdomens explode.'

i thought drones & queens were to do with ants, but apparently not!

Where exactly "the birds and the bees" originated nobody knows, but word sleuths William and Mary Morris hint that it may have been inspired by words like these from the poet Samuel Coleridge: "All nature seems at work ... The bees are stirring--birds are on the wing ... and I the while, the sole unbusy thing, not honey make, nor pair, nor build, nor sing." Making honey, pairing ... yes, we can definitely tell what Sam had on his mind.

The Morrises offer the theory that schools in years past taught about sex by "telling how birds do it and how bees do it and trusting that the youngsters would get the message by indirection

Because it's the most natural thing in the world, nature and no one is going to stop it just like no one can stop the birds and the bees doing it.

'cause the birds and the bees cross-pollenate flowers and trees without actually having to describe human sex to a kid... their feet pick up pollen (sperm) and deposit it on the flowers they land on (fertilizing an egg) and you get the pic without ever having to mention where a penis gets inserted! ;o)

Its mostly a physical comparision.
