alrighty, so im going to be a 80's person for holloween. What i plan on doing is wearing pink converse shoes, some sort of bright/colorful designed tights, a bright colored mini skirt(not sure of the color yet), a bright orange shirt, and i am going to temporarly die my hair blonde and possibly put it in braids. Does thsi sound like an 80s person? I'm not sure cuz i wasnt really alive then. does any one else have some rad ideas? thanks for the help.

yeah, i forgot to say that i was gunna wear lots of cool jewlry...how do you do the "big hair" think you are all talking about...i sort of understand it but how would you do it so that it doesnt look gross?

Put your hair in a ponytail with a bit of lace as a ribbon.... Don't forget the gawdy huge chunky bangle bracelets and huge earrings.... A quick easy way to make a retro 80's earring is to take a key and hang it from any loop earring but only on one ear the other ear gets a stud earring... (hang the key from the right ear ) Get a pair of fishnet stocking black to go over your bright colored tights... be sure to put holes in the front of one thigh and on the outside of the other calf... wear white socks so they stick up 1-2 inches above the converse shoes and are bunched up....
If you decide to go with the huge 80's hair tease your hair then bend so your head is between your knees spray thickly with hair spray... Use a blow dryer to dry the spray repeat at least 3 times to get your haiir poofy enough ( Note mix 1 cup baking soda with 1 cup warm water to make a cream... Use in the shower after washing your hair apply to hair wait 2 minutes rinse... it will strip out any hair spray residue left after washing) tie the lace around your head like a headband make sure to make a big bow on top off center...
Make sure your bright colors clash well (orange shirt with green tights and a blue skirt would be good... the lace for your hair should be offwhite" get a white teeshirt to wear under te orange teeshirt cut the orange shirt like a tanktop so the white shirt shows underneath...
You will need black eyeliner and mascara (put it on really thick) very light blush deep red lipstick... Purple eye shadow...

braids? NOPE..try the BIG HAIR DO...take a brush and pull the hair away from your head and then hairspray it like crazy...use half a can..lol! does this on bothsides of your head and then the top should be teased up and then spray like crazy again. when the hair is crispy from hairspray then you know you've done it right. now the skirt...hmmmm.black was in during the 80's as well. so were leg warmers and white keds. really there's a lot to do for the 8o's...man the memories..lol! great era! good luck with the costume

This description sounds more like someone from the '70s, no offense. It sounds good to me. What you could use are some big, tinted glasses that are red or something. I would recommend putting your hair in one braid or get a fro wig. That would be cool!

I wouldn't do the braids. That's more like 60's...
In the 80's it was all about big hair!! Lot's of Hairspray and teased hair... the poofier the better..

Not braids, big teased out hairsprayed hair. Aqua Net works. Lots of make-up, gaudy plastic jewelry, glitter, neon, legwarmers. Have fun.

If you have bangs spray them so they stand up like a fan curling toward your face somewhat and wear to pairs of socks each a different color. One should show under the other.

You need to tease your hair to make it big. Big hair was really big then. I'm not sure what dying your hair blonde has to do with anything. The clothes sound good.

Braids? No no no. The style back then was BIG hair. Get a blow dryer and some Aqua net and make your hair really big.

You would definately have to tease your hair and spray it firm with LOTS of hairspray. (To tease, just spritz with hair spray and then hold hair up and brush down til it's real big)
Also, you need some huge hoop earrings and lots of bangle bracelets, plastic and loud colors if you can get them.
