I need to know about the differences in tone, overall message and talk about their culture. Please somebody help me out!

The difference between African poetry and African American poetry in tone is that African American tone is directed more toward instances of events and feeling from a centered view inside the box if you will and thew message is usually of misfortunes of lesser and minor caliber.African Poetry is more cultural and passionate towards life and lifes infiity of twists and turns good and bad..Blessings and hidden blessing,Birth,Love,Tradition,Survival and Death.

African poetry is from African; Afro American is American black poetry. The difference depends on the different cultures within each. Sorry, there is no set answer.

African poetry is poetry whose roots are African, as in they are describing something in Africa. African American poetry is written by someone who is African American and is talking about life in America.

African poetry is poetry that directly comes from Africa, while African American poetry is poetry that comes from people who derived from Africa but immigrated to America, hence the term African-American, versus just African.
