I don't live IN Seattle, but go there everyday. There are pockets of quite different cultures all around the city.
There is Chinatown, quite large area.
There's 1st hill, then a little north is several Universities/colleges on Capitol Hill.
Capitol Hill is probably the most diverse and different crowd of people. King County is the most liberal area in the state and people are drawn here due to the fact that whoever they are they will be accepted here.
There is a large Deaf community in Seattle because the college which teaches ASL to the greatest extent is on Capitol Hill. There is a large gay community on Capitol Hill. (Therefore one of the largest gay/Deaf groupings around).
I've seen men who wear dresses and women who dress themselves up to look like men. There are transvestites and trans-genders.
There are people of every color and language.
Just stick around for a few minutes, you just might be surprised at what you can see in a 30 minutes time frame.
