Yes, starfish have amazing power of regeneration. Some starfish can replicate themselves from only one arm and about 1/5th of the central disk, the "body" of the creature, and others divide their central disk in two. Each half then regenerates its missing parts.♥

In the case of most species of starfish, neither half will grow back. With the exception of a few species, they can only regenerate their limbs (and not the centre of their body). If the limbs of the starfish are cut too high up (towards the centre), they won't grow back either. This is because their vital organs (which they have in multiple numbers of ABOVE each arm) are situated in the centre.
Some species have the organs in their arms instead (i.e. a set of organs IN each arm!)...and they can regenerate their entire body from just an arm.

No because you have cut the center of the starfish. A starfish can only grow back the arms and legs not the actual middle. Hope this helps!

Yep, If a starfish is cut in half, or even if just a limb is left, a new starfish will grow.

No, only the first half will grow back. So you'll have one and a half starfish in a few moments.

yup........the regrowth of body parts is called REGENERATION
regeneration is the only kind of reproduction that starfishes undergo....regeneration is under asexual reproduction that means its a kind of reproduction that doesnt need sex
