there is an on board sound card, so it says.
firstly, and this is just because ive had to tell people before
check that you have your speakers plugged in, both mains (at both ends, the speakers and the wall) and into the green audio jack at the back of the pc.
then, and again, just in case, make sure theyre switched on and turned up.
if none of that is the cause, then sorry, you're not that daft, but i had to make sure.
check the driver by going to control panel>system, then clicking the hardware tab at the top of the new window then click "device manager"
now dont go around deleting things. thats just gonna cause other problems.
if you can see any question marks or exclamation marks, there are driver problems, and youll have to reinstall one or two, investigate these. you can usually click on them to bring up properties, and uninstall. they will be likely to reinstall on reboot, if you were given a disk, put it in. otherwise you will have to download better drivers for them.
if there are no question marks or exclamation marks, click the little + next to sound, video and game controllers and look for "BLAH Audio Device" if you cannot see an audio device, the device is not being detected, and youll have to check to see if it is switched on in the BIOS. these are all different, and i cant really tell you how to do it.
if you can see the audio device in the sound, video and game controllers menu, click it to bring up properties, and uninstall the driver. reboot with (if you have one) the disk you got with the pc in the drive, and it should install this time.
dont worry if you didnt get the disk, if you let window check the web, it should find a driver thatll work.
hope that helps.

It sounds like you don't have the correct audio drivers installed - or that the sound is turned off in the bios. Go to control panel, then system and check for any audio or multimedia devices - if there are some with a yellow exclaimation on then you need to install dirvers - if there is nothing there at all then your soundcard chip isn't being recognised by your machine. you need to go into the BIOS an enable your soundcard and then ensure you have installed any drivers that came with your machine.

Good day. On the desktop, right click my computer and click properties. Now click the hardware tab and then device manager. If u se any ! or ?, drivers are missing. If u see a X, Driver is disabled and u need to enable. For the ! or ?, the drivers may be on a cd the computer came with. If nothing, go to www.driverguide.com and sign up. Drivers are free to download after signing up. Laterz

would properly be a speaker coil inflicting the hiss. attempt a diverse set of audio equipment. If the region persists, you would elect to work out if there are any as a lot as date audio drivers accessible. previous that, it would properly be your sound sytem is on the edge. you could continuously installation a seperate sound card and disable the onboard sound equipment.

You probably need to plug in external speakers. Also check and make sure audio drivers are installed.

you sure that the sound drivers are installed? since, it looks like, you have a driver issue. you need to install the drivers for your sound card. if its built-in, you need to get it from the driver disk of your motherboard ( generally its built-in though) and if not then, call your computer manufacturer for professional help.

You may not have internal speakers. If this is the case then go to radio shack and buy a cheap pair.

"Is it plugged in"
Some speakers have power supply connectors that connect to the PC, some connect to subs or woffer bases; others plug into the mains.
Which is yours? is it plugged in? Have you got speakers?
Sorry if that sounds condescending!
