It's not so much that I think it should be legal, it's more that I don't believe it should be illegal just like pot, prostitution, etc.

No it definitely should not be legal. And it is against God and His word:
The Book of Leviticus Chapter 20 verse 13
"If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them."

Calling it marriage...No "BUT" they should be able to have a legally recognized "civil union" that has benefits just like a marriage.

I believe that the word marriage itself, should be reserved only for a Man and a Woman.

I have been with my same sex life partner for 24 years and it would be nice to be able to make it legal.

For those of you who say things like it's against the Bible etc., give me a break!

There is no proof that God actually said anything against being Gay. The Bible was written by Man and Man added only what he thought should be in it!

God Loves all people and Jesus said the same, so save your bleeding heart Religious crap, for Sunday school!

No as marriage is clearly defined as the union of a man and a woman! I mean what next marriage to your dog? If a gay couple wants to be together, fine but it still does not mean it;s a marriage.

The Bible, a handbook for living. states gay life as immoral. it bears no fruit. and what do you do with a tree that doesn't bear fruit? you definately don't propegate it. no other animal on the planet is gay. male roaches can 'become gay', if a male roach tries to make it with another male roach all the other roaches will savagely kill that 'gay roach', it is just not 'normal'. the animals know right from wrong in the natural order of life, what is wrong with us?/? we can't supress our feelings? can't redirect them?

You mean like have the definition be between two consenting adults of any sex? No that is a slippery slope to polygamy and marrying animals. Oh wait, it says TWO consenting adults (not animals). Well that argument doesn't work. Oh, but it ruins the sanctity of marriage. But over 60% of marriages end in divorce anyway. So um, I guess the only argument left if to say you want to discriminate against gays. So yeah, that must be why. I hope you see the sarcasm. I support any two people who love each other.

Gay marriage is a state's right, not the federal government.

Aviator, I love your answer.

Every taxpaying adult citizen deserves to be as happy or as miserable as every other married couple regardless of sexual orientation. I believe that churches do have the right to oppose gay marriage, but I think that it is unconstitutional for the government to ban same-sex unity.

Yup. Love is love, and I see no point in refusing them the legal protection of any other loving couple.
