I've tried Clorox Clean Up and Ajax but the amount of scrubbing I have to do to get them clean is enormous.

I use to use oven cleaner if the drip pans are metal, not aluminium. Another tip for your oven. Put baking soda on the bottom of your oven (all over the bottom, not flammable believe me and it collects the drips from food) and when it gets messy, just vacuum it up and put more. Be sure to clean your vacuum right away. I do it to my oven and it is as good as new on the bottom, as the day i bought it. Could do the same for the your pans. Hope it helps.

This works for burned sauce pans, so it might work for the drip pans too. For a sauce pan, you put a dryer sheet in the pan with water and then boil it for 15 minutes. The burned part scrubs off much more easily. For a drip pan, try putting the pan in the sink with the dryer sheet and adding boiling water. Then let it sook for 15 minutes and wait for the water to cool.

What has worked of us is to put the drop pan in the sink, put in enough water to cover the burned on gunk, and then put powdered dishwasher detergent direclty on the burned on food and let it soak for a couple of hours. Washes right off after that.

just an S.O.S. pad will do the trick, but you need a lot of elbow grease and hard scrubbing.

oxy-clean BAM will remove the crud and allow for easier scrubbing.
BUT if you are going to spend a lot on products -- check first, it might be cheaper to buy new stove drip pans.

Full strength Simple Green will clean anything. Let it soak and use warm water and one of those rubber scrapers, it should losen most of the gunk up and make them so much easier to clean.

I try to keep them clean with brillo pads (s.o.s) and end up buying new ones from Home Depot or Lowes.
