wash them well. dry completely for a few days. store in paper envelope with name of seed written on it.

If your pumpkin that you are getting the seeds from is an F1 hybrid, you may not wish to do this. I'd find out about the pumpkin variety and make sure it's gonna give me what I wanted before dedicating the large part of my garden and the larger water bill that pumpkins tend to take.

I probably wouldn't bother saving pumpkin seeds from a commercially purchased pumpkin unless you know FOR SURE that it was ORGANICALLY grown - chances are they are hybrid pumpkin seeds and may or may not germinate next year, regardless of how you save them.

You are better off to buy a packet of seeds or a seedling or two next spring.
