Is it normal to pass blood clots the size of a fifty cent piece on your period? Usually they are about the zsize of a dime or nickle, but these are really big. Should I be worried?

Not to worry, clots are usually seen because you have not been drinking enough water. Dehydration, even when mild will cause alot of clotting during your period. Now if you develop severe pain when passing clots that are say fist size, time to see a doc quick. Otherwise, would not worry, and would plan on drinking a whole lot more water every day.
