I am a Sophomore in High School..I am only 5"8 (Not close to being done with puberty lol) abou 111 pounds, have a late birthday (In July), my fastball shouldnt be considered a fastball (Only about 70 MPH) I do tho have a nasty nasty slider, curve, and change-up...do I have a shot? I do need more velocity on my fastball soo what r some things that I can do to get the speed up? What are some exercises to focus on my arm? Also in order to throw my slider effectively i have to change my motion to a semi-side arm throw..Is that not good that I have to change my motion?

Of course..never count yourself out..everyones gotta shot..it's good that u have good moving pitches..not everyone's fastball gotta be in the mid 80's or 90's..try to to db rows, do ur legs, and also try to work on throwing over-hand for your slider soo that way the hitters do not pick up on what you're going to throw..I wish the best of luck to you!!

There are many major league pitchers who only throw 80 mph fastball but they are usually sinker ball pitchers, i.e. Chad Bradford of the New York Mets. It's good to learn to throw all of your pitches out of the same arm angle so the hitter can't tell what you're going to throw. Randy Johnson, for instances, throws side arm for all his pitches. Many schools look for tall right handed pitchers and any size for left handed pitchers, you did not mention if you threw righty or lefty. If you can learn a nasty sinker ball, sinker, curve, a change-up/ circle change then I think you would have a good shot at making it at a D-2/D-3 school.

If you have a good slider, curve and change-up, that is good enough for a D2 or D3 school. Many of those sized schools actually have a hard time finding players, especially pitching. You could be a good junk ball pitcher usually used in relief.

For D2 or D3 sure you have a chance. You still have two more years to improve. Realize though that D3 has no sports scholarships and D2 is limited so you will need to be a STUDENT-athlete and be able to afford to go to the school.

You're gonna have to get that fastball up to 90 at least before you have a chance.

Dude; you're only a sophomore in High School. Concentrate on your legs and your mechanics. The speed will come when you get bigger and stronger.
